Web21 Mar 2024 · Raccoon Lake is a 2,060-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) flood control impoundment near Rockville. Each winter, the USACE draws down water levels by 22 feet, which impedes aquatic vegetation growth. Aquatic vegetation is a key factor in fish habitat. Partners include the USACE, Bass Unlimited and the Indiana Bass Federation. WebIncludes the Raccoon State Recreation Area and Historic Mansfield Roller Mill. Native forest and large rock outcrops line the upper part of Big Raccoon Creek. Cecil M. Harden Lake resulted from the damming of the creek for flood control. The lake also provides recreation, wildlife management and economic benefits.

Web5 Aug 2016 · On Saturday we drove the 5 mins to Rock Lake and did the Booth Rock hiking trail, which was great. On Sunday we did part of the same trail again and found a secluded beach to spend the day on. It was perfect. At night the atmosphere at the campsite was great, as the darkness provides privacy and our neighbours were not noisy.
