WebSilang Municipal Library is an integral part of the Office of Sangguniang Bayan ng Silang (Municipal Council of Silang) and the Office of the Vice Mayor. It is one of the ten (10) public libraries in the province of Cavite and it has a direct affiliation with the National Library of the Philippines (NLP). WebSilang is believed to be the second oldest town in Cavite and was founded in 1571. The name Silang was derived from Tagalog word “Silanganan”. Some said it came from “isinilang” because of the sudden existence of a church at the center of the town.
