Test it at the 12 th. fret and it should measure ( you need an electronic tuner, Snark or whatever) and you should have the exact same note one octave higher. If flat, tighten screw , i.e. make it shorter till exact. Do the same for all six strings. You will get a pattern very similar to a 3 saddle bridge. WebFirst, use a sharp blade to score a line on the finish around the nut. This way, when the nut breaks free chipping of the finish will be at a minimum. With a hammer, gently but firmly tap a hard solid object against the fretboard side of the old nut. (I use a 4" x 2" x 1" steel block, but a hardwood block works, too.)
