WebSep 2, 2024 · At present, the main method for realizing an Nb3Sn RF cavity is the vapor diffusion process, i.e. reacting Nb RF cavity and Sn vapor at high temperatures, which usually involves five stages: degas, nucleation, ramp, coating, and annealing. WebWhile the majority of research efforts are currently focused on the development of elliptical single-cell and multi-cell cavities, the potential of this material is evident to other cavity types, which may have complex geometries. We are working towards the development of Nb 3 Sn-coated Half-wave resonator and twin axis cavity at JLab.
