BTOD steam cleans and refreshes the original foam, then adds a base layer of higher density foam underneath that. Crandall replaces the foam entirely. The Steelcase foam has a different consistency to it, more along the line of latex which has much better support to compression ratio over time. It's good for around 6 hours before you need to get up and walk around a bit.
